Day 32: What Goes Around Comes Around

Sometimes humanity surprises me in a good way. My husband spent the morning helping his mother move her furniture into the home she had just purchased. 

Yes, Deano is blind but once he orients himself to a new situation... Taking a walk with a sighted guide around a unfamiliar environment he tours the landscape and seems to cope very well, mostly remembering where he has to manoeuvre the next time he takes the journey. A well rehearsed response to change I suppose (don't know if I could cope so well)  So when moving home...and we have moved home 18 times over the past 25 years he works like a pro. He takes the trailing end of the bed, lounge, cupboard or fridge and allows the sighted person to lead. You would never guess that he actually couldn't see where he placing the furniture.

After a tough day of shifting and lifting his mother stopped by the shops for a well earned pie and coke. Knowing that the bakery was right next door to the hair dresser, Deano suggested to his mum that he would like to have his hair cut. Looking a little hot and bothered from all the hard work of the morning the hair cutter helped him to his seat  and The blindman allowed the hairdresser to trim his locks. When the barber was done with his hair he kindly told him his hair cut was on the house. Deano insisting he must pay, the gentleman reassured him that the bill had already been taken care of. Deano's mother said the payment definitely didn't come out of her purse. We're not sure if the hair dresser gave him a free hair cut because Deano is blind (we suppose that this is the case)...in the end it doesn't matter...all that matters is that this man has a kind heart and his generosity has not gone unnoticed 

Such a random act of kindness has never happened to him in all of his life. It's usually Dean doing random acts of kindness to others and just out of the blue it was his turn to be on the receiving end. How wonderful ❤️

Randomly just this week I see my blindman helping his creative daughter build an artist easel

"We built an easel today!!!!!!! 
Will paint all day everyday from here on. If dean isn't the prime example of what a best dad does then idk what is
